Patient Fees

The Skin Cancer Centre Coogee is a private clinic and gaps may be relevant to your visit.

As of 1st October 2023, The Skin Cancer Centre Coogee will be changing the gap payments/ out of pocket costs for our consultations and procedures.

We have been waiting for the outcome of the recent Medicare review before adjusting our fees.  Unfortunately, the additional bulk billing incentive offered in the Medicare review will only be available to a patient’s regular GP.

On reviewing our billing process, in the absence of a significant Medicare rebate increase, our conclusion is that our current billing model is not sustainable. We want to continue to provide our patients with high quality skin cancer care in the face of rising operational costs.

The fee for a standard private skin check will be increasing to $105 ($63.80 gap), long skin check >20mins $144 ($64.30 gap). The gap for a biopsy will be $60.

A gap of $30 will apply to skin checks and biopsies for:

  • Pensioner Concession Card holders

  • Low-income healthcare cards

  • Children under 16 years old

All follow up appointments to discuss results etc will be bulk billed.

We will continue to bulk bill DVA gold card holders and DVA white cards with skin cancer as an accepted condition.

Fees for surgical procedures will be discussed by your doctor if necessary.

Thank you.
